Contrasting Elegance Kitchen
The Challenge
The challenge was an original kitchen that was too small for the extensive baking and entertaining the clients wanted to do. The adjacent dining room, separated by a load-bearing wall, needed to be integrated to create an elongated L-shaped kitchen and an improved family dining experience.
The Vision
The vision was a sophisticated black and white colour scheme. To soften the contrast between the rich black and white cabinets, an elegant marble backsplash was selected. The plan required removing the structural wall to allow for a more expansive, functional layout.
The Solution
The solution was a design that included a dedicated prep sink on the long wraparound wall specifically for baking. A beautiful bench seat was incorporated under the low window, providing extra seating and a cozy spot for morning coffee. A waterfall countertop and seating area grounded the peninsula, creating a definitive end to the long kitchen. With ample countertop space, enhanced storage, and a new pantry, these elegant finishes resulted in a custom kitchen the clients loved!
